Post suitable for: Current students of the University of Winchester who will continue to be a registered student at UoW in the academic year 2024/25 only;  Winchester Student Union is currently seeking enthusiastic, approachable and hardworking students, to join the teams responsible for our venue & bar services. 

Hours: 0+ Nearly all evenings. Must be available to work a late night on a Wednesday. We aim to provide 1 to 2 shifts a week. Each shift averages around 6 hours.

Rate of Pay: £11.44 ph (plus payment in lieu of holiday)

APPLICATION DEADLINE

Due to the short semester and the business need to get staff working as soon as possible, applications for this role will be reviewed as they come in and will close no later than Friday 24th May.

Applications are automatically submitted on completion of the online application form. Depending on demand, applications may be considered and shortlisted as and when they are submitted. There may be a further shortlisting period if the quality and amount of applications required are not sufficient. 

 

SELECTION & INTERVIEWS

Selection will be based upon a brief interview with the line manager of the department you are applying for, alongside at least one other panel member. Interviews will take place in person and will be discussed with the candidate in advance (online interviews will only be considered in exceptional circumstances).  Please ensure that you enter correct contact details on your application form. Please note there will be a short turnaround between applications closing and interviews.

If you are not contacted, you have unfortunately not been shortlisted for the post.

 

START DATES

This position is available to start immediately for training and a few shifts before term ends on Friday 24th May. The majority of the work is term time only and will begin for Freshers Week in September 2024, which you must make yourself available for. Applicants who are not available to work the week commencing September 16th, will not be shortlisted.
