Presidents (also known as Officer Trustees) are full-time, and are also paid staff positions of the Union. In addition, these full-time officer posts are also Trustees/Directors of the Union, which means they are, alongside the other Trustees/Directors, collectively legally responsible for all of our activities, and make decisions about long term strategy. These are only suitable for students who are graduating at the end of this academic year (or are prepared to take a full year out of their studies as a "sabbatical year").

What did/do you study?
I studied Primary Education with QTS
What SU run events and activities have you been a part of?
I was part of the Performing Arts Winchester Society from my first year and became part of the committee when I was Welfare Officer in my second year and Chair in my third. I have supported PAW at Freshers’ Fayre and helped them put on lots of showcases, taster sessions and fundraisers.
What are your top Manifesto points?
My top manifesto points in a nutshell cover current issues facing students like the cost-of-living crisis and the education crisis, advocating for you and celebrating your achievements. I’ve got so many ideas up my sleeve so keep an eye out for our President Diaries over on our Instagram and in the newsletter
What made you run in the Elections to become an officer?
I am extremely passionate about ensuring that students have the opportunity to have a say in their learning and experience at university. I was recommended anonymously twice for the role which is where I began to think about the difference I could possibly make while in the role and decided to go for it!
What’s your favourite thing about Winchester?
My favourite thing about Winchester is how close we are to the South Downs National Park. I love how beautiful the city and the surrounding areas are especially in the spring and summer
What has been your proudest moment during your student journey (so far)?
My student journey has had so many twists and changes in it but honestly, I am most proud of sticking through it and keeping going. I have learnt resilience and patience, and I am the woman I am today because of the effort I put into my experience here at Winchester.
What do you like doing when you aren’t being a Winchester SU Officer?
I love performing arts, so I dance and sing a lot. But I also love going out with friends or slower hobbies like colouring and reading
What's your favourite film?
I think my top two would have to be How To Train Your Dragon and Pirates of the Caribbean, but I love the Disney animated classics for a little bit of nostalgia.
What's your favourite book?
I’m so indecisive when it comes to my favourites! I love reading so much but I really loved The Prison Healer series. I love reading anything fantasy or fiction, not big on horror though!
