Welcome to Winchester University Christian Union!
We are a group of university students from various different churches and denominations across the city who form a tight-knit community of friends and disciples, meeting in the very heart of campus. Our aim and mission statement is: ‘Growing together to go and share the love of Jesus on our campus.’ With this comes our vision to see as many students as possible come to know Jesus, to develop in their faith, and grow in confidence in sharing their faith with others. Through our evangelistic efforts and events we aim to reach all students, regardless of their background, and welcome anyone with interest into our community.
Regular meetings
As a CU we meet every Monday at 7pm in SAB 301 – everyone is welcome! This is a time for us to have fellowship with one another, to learn more about Jesus, to dig deeper into the Bible, and to worship together. We often invite speakers from local churches and further afield to give talks in these meetings; there are also opportunities for our own CU members to speak too! We regularly provide meals for everyone to enjoy before the meeting.
Events
The academic year begins with Freshers’ Week – this a great time for us to make all students feel welcome and at home during a potentially nerve-wracking week! We hold events daily during Freshers’ Week, by introducing the freshers to a taste of CU life and allowing a space for them to explore and make connections. In line with our aim to share the love of Jesus on campus, we hold other outreach and evangelistic events throughout the year. For example, we have a Carol Service in December and an Events Week in Semester 2.

MEMBERSHIP T&Cs
Where an activity group (sports team/society/representational network) has a competitive element or other external factors that affect the number of participants, your membership may be subject to criteria other than joining the group via this website. If this results in your membership not being able to be accepted, you will be informed (with any relevant details) and your membership will be refunded.
Membership will not normally be refunded if you cease being a student, if you voluntarily end your membership, or if you are subject to disciplinary action that removes your membership status.
CODE OF CONDUCT
By joining this activity group you are confirming your compliance with Student Union policies and bye-laws, particularly as it pertains to conduct, personal safety and acceptable behaviour.
Initiations: At no point should you feel pressured to drink and get involved in what others are doing, for example to join in with drinking games or ‘challenges’, if you don’t want to. If you are part of an activity group it is completely your choice whether or not you attend a social event. Activity groups are prohibited from carrying out initiation ceremonies, or any initiation-type behaviour, either on or off campus. If you ever feel pressured to take part in social activities as part of an activity group, we would strongly encourage you to report it to us here: https://www.winchesterstudents.co.uk/report It is our upmost priority that you feel safe engaging in Union activity, and there is support available for you if you have experienced or witnessed anything that made you feel uncomfortable or concerned you.
