STUDENT UNION STATEMENT – STANDING WITH OUR LGBTQPIA+ COMMUNITY
We have been made aware of a number of transphobic and discriminatory posts made on an anonymous confessions social media page. This account is not linked to Winchester Student Union or the University of Winchester in any way, and we have reached out to the anonymous administrators to ask them to remove these posts and request they close the page indefinitely.
We stand with our LGBTQPIA+ community at Winchester. There is no place for hate speech, discrimination, or harassment in our community. Winchester Student Union has a zero-tolerance approach towards any hate incidents, and we remain committed to tackling any hate speech, hate crime, harassment, bullying or violence, alongside the University.
