Kicking off our awards evenings this year was the Student and Staff Recognition awards (SSRAs), dedicated to recognising the outstanding achievements of our brilliant students and staff. The food hall was decorated in green and gold to match the new SSRA branding and featured a flower wall where attendees could pose for photos.
This evening honoured both students and staff who have demonstrated exemplary dedication, hard work and commitment to improving life on campus this year. Nominees ranged from StARs who have gone above and beyond to enhance the experiences of their fellow students, to student staff members that have continuously worked hard to ensure student voices are heard. The evening also celebrated staff members and lecturers who have worked tirelessly to support students and heighten their experiences this academic year.
The atmosphere was filled with admiration and gratitude as the award recipients were recognised for their contributions. This evening was especially emotional as we said goodbye to Dan Chevalier, our Vice President Education and Welfare. This was Dan’s second and final year presenting the SSRAs, and emotions were high as Dan thanked all those who have supported him during his time in office.
Overall, this event highlighted the collaborative efforts that shape our university's vibrant community. The Student and Staff Recognition Awards served as a reminder of the profound achievements of our students and staff.

Lifetime Honorary Membership recognises the significant contribution the recipient has made to the student experience at Winchester during their time here, whether that be through collaborative efforts with Winchester Student Union, or working directly with students.
Congratulations to all nominees and winners!
