Tali: My name is Tali Atvars and I’m your Student Union President

Millie: And I’m Millie Clucas, your Vice President of Activities.

 

Tali: It’s been a busy summer here at Winchester Student Union, getting ready for the new academic year and working to ensure our students have the best possible student experience.

Millie: And on that note, we’ve been exploring the potential financial barriers that students may face when wanting to participate in Student Union Activities, sports teams and societies.

 

Tali: And though we understand we won’t be able to remove every cost barrier students face overnight, we believe we have the responsibility to remove the costs we have direct ownership over.

 

Millie: So, with that in mind, we’ve removed the cost associated with purchasing a Student Activity Number, also known as, an SA Number. Students will no longer need to pay, with the cost of insurance and additional funding being covered by your Student Union.

Tali: It’s hoped that the removing of this cost will increase the number of students able to partake in our sports teams and societies.

Millie: We understand that this will mainly benefit those who are about to start University and that those of you who already have control of an SA Number may be slightly disappointed that this hadn’t happened a few years earlier.

 

Tali: So with that understanding, we are ensuring that those returning to sports teams and societies and who already have an SA number, will pay slightly less for SUBS than new members with this cost, again, covered by your Student Union.
