Additional Support and Learning Resources

As assessment period continues, we wanted to remind you know about some of the additional support and learning resources in place to help you prepare and feel confident completing your assessments. 

 

This assessment special email gives you information about extended hours access to libraries, study spaces, and specialist spaces, so you have access to learning resources when you need them.  

Details about how Library, IT resources and facilities, and the Academic Success Team will be available to support your learning are below.

 

Library Opening Hours

You can access the Martial Rose Library and the West Downs Library 24/7 (with physical university card). Full for details of dates and times click here.

 

If the library is busy, did you know:

  1. You can book a room for your individual or group work?  https://wrb.winchester.ac.uk/2526SDB/Login.aspx
  2. In addition to the library, you can also use overflow classrooms for revision/ study
  3. Study Space Available in the Learning Café 24/7 from Monday 5 to Friday 16 January 2026.

Extended hours for specialist spaces:

We are extending access to specialist labs and practical spaces to enable you to book a practice session with your subject specific learning resources.

Any specialist space is available to book for technician supported practice slots 9am-6pm.

In addition to this, see selected extended hours sessions available below:

      • From  7 January to 22 April 2026
    • Nursing (WDC 305)
      • Wednesdays 5-7pm
      • From 14 January to 22 April 2026
    • Archaeology, Anthropology, Geography & Forensics (Medecroft Laboratories*)
      • Mondays 6-8pm
      • From 12 January to 20 April 2026
      • Booking required via SISO
      • *Excludes MC5

Student requested workshops

Students can also request tailored workshops for groups of six or more. You might do this if you cannot attend a webinar, or if you have an upcoming assignment. Email academicskills@winchester.ac.uk to request a tailored workshop.

Academic Success also have SkillsNet on Canvas which hosts a wide range of digital resources to browse and download.
