Winchester Student Union is ‘Best Bar None’ for the third year in a row.

The Vault, Winchester Student Union is the winner of NUS Best Bar None scheme for the third consecutive year, scoring 100% in both the on-site and off-site assessments.

Best Bar None is a national scheme originally created by the police and awards venues for their commitment to social responsibility and management of licensed premises. Winchester Student Union is proud to operate a safe social space for students, with a committment to student wellbeing.

“It’s great that we’ve won Best Bar None Overall for the third time in a row,” commented Andrew Hodgson, Winchester Student Union Manager. “There’s always room for improvement but students and staff can be proud – yet again – to enjoy the most socially responsible student union venue, bar none.”

The 800-capacity purpose-built venue is located in the University Centre on the King Alfred Campus.

Winchester Student Union is currently working with the Winchester Business Improvement District to introduce the Best Bar None scheme to the city of Winchester. The scheme aims to reduce alcohol-related crime and disorder and works to improve communication and relationships between licensed traders, police and local authorities.
