Coffee House Session - Into the Ark

Friday 27-11-2015 - 13:58

What inspired you to start a career in music?

Music… We were both part of choirs from 6 and 7 and then at 16 we learned to start playing the music we really liked as opposed to carols and choir songs. But it was all great training!

Name your top 3 influences and why?

Do you want to two and I’ll do 1?

Naa I’ll do 1 - Ray Lamontagne

We can have 6…

  1. Ray Lamontagne

  2. City In Colour

  3. John Mayer

  4. Fleet Wood Mack

  5. Michael Jackson

  6. Sam Cook

There are too many….

How are you finding the Coffee House Session Tour so far?

Well it’s the first day of the tour and the first session was very small but it was cool and now we are excited to play here!

There are a lot of dates over a short space of time, do you find it challenging as a vocalist to maintain your stamina and not get tired with the packed schedule?

We have had a lot of training in that field. When we worked for Thompson we worked in a hotel in Tunisia for 5 months. We performed 6 days a week for an hour and half a night, so there was a lot of singing and we learnt a lot about learning to look after your voice.  It still is very challenging though.

So far you have released one track called, ‘Right Track’, have you got any more EP’s or singles to release soon?

That ‘Right Track’ is just a demo that we did 3 years. We have been in and out of the studios the last two months, testing our sounds and our songs, but we’re still not 100% happy with what we want to release yet.

It’s better to wait till we are really happy with it, but definitely early next year we will hopefully have a full length album out, maybe a EP first, but we’re not entirely sure. There are a lot of sessions on YouTube which have some songs we haven’t recorded yet, so people can listen that way for now.

For everyone who enjoyed your Coffee House Session do you have any more gigs planed soon?

Well if you’re Welsh or live in Wales, we are playing a headline show in Clwb Lfor Bach in Cardiff, on the 16th, which we are very excited for. We are also playing at The Garage in Glasgow on the 3rd December.
