Union Trustee - Bill Richards

Bill Richards became a Trustee in 2016. Bill graduated from the University of Winchester in 2011. Bill has enjoyed his time as a trustee so far as he recognises the significant impact the union made on his time at university so is glad to be taking an active role in making sure the union delivers for new and existing Winchester students.


Bill has worked the last 9 years in Student Recruitment roles and is currently working for The University of Roehampton in London in the Recruitment and International Development department.


He is responsible for recruitment of full degree students from California and Texas and previously Indian students at Roehampton so he takes an interest in how international students are provided for in Winchester Student Union activities, whilst he provides his knowledge of the sector and unique eye to guide the Board of Trustees.


In the past having have worked in widening participation and outreach roles working with children in care, first generation university attendees and student from a wide variety of background he challenges the Board of Trustees to make sure these students have a voice.


As a student and university staff member, Bill got involved in the lighter side of union activities having been on Winchesters got Talent both as a contestant and a Judge – he also makes sure the fun element isn’t lost in what the union does.
