Winchester Student Union Entry Policy

Students require proof of student status and proof of age for entry to our events.

We accept a current NUS Extra Card (from Winchester only) and the University Student Card as proof of student status. During Freshers Fortnight we will accept Halls of Residence keys or Letters of Enrolment.

We accept the following as proof of age: Photocard Driving License, Passport or Verified PASS Card.

Winchester Student Union operates a zero tolerance policy towards drugs and alcohol misuse. Therefore any-one deemed intoxicated, or under the influence, will not be permitted entry.

Winchester Student Union operates a random search policy. If you refuse a search request, entry will not be permitted.

Signing-In Policy

Students with an NUS Extra Card can sign in 1 guest per event. To sign-in a guest you must buy your tickets in advance from the Box Office (at Level 1, University Centre, main campus). You will be asked for your guests name, and will be issued your event ticket, plus a guest ticket. The name on the guest ticket is non-transferable. Your guest must provide proof of age upon entry. Accepted proof of age ID is listed above.

Students who sign in a guest, take full responsibility for their guests behaviour and are liable for any disciplinary action if their guest is involved in, or causes any incidents whereby house rules & policies are broken. Please note no guests are permitted during Freshers Fortnight.

Advance Tickets

The Box Office is open from 11am until 3pm, Monday to Friday. Tickets are available upon proof of student status. Maximum of 2 tickets per person.

Tickets for Bop go on sale every Thursday morning, for the following week’s event. Tickets for flirt! go on sale every Monday, for that week’s event. Please note for special events, tickets may go on sale earlier than normal. This will be advertised in advance.

Advance tickets are accepted until 9.30pm for Bop and 10pm for flirt!. If you arrive after these times, you will have to queue and pay an additional £1 entry. Late entry charges are to encourage earlier arrival to our events to reduce queue times and noise complaints from local residents.
Guest tickets must be brought in advance. Details regarding signing-in guests are listed above.
