The Student Union runs many campaigns throughout the year and most require wide scale student participation. If you have strong opinions on being a student, what you are unwilling to accept, or things you would like to see raised in profile, then getting actively involved in campaigns is definitely for you. You can have the direct power to influence issues locally and nationally; you are part of a national community of 7 million students. Some of our past campaigns have included asking for increased opening hours of the campus library, raising our profile with local residents through SSHH (Silent Students, Happy Homes), lobbying for better management and legislation for houses of multiple occupancy/student accommodation & trying to eliminate hidden fees in studying for higher education. For details about our current campaigns or to suggest a campaign you would like to see, please contact the Student Union President.
