Welcome to the Welfare area of the site. We hope you will find this area useful with information covering major aspects of welfare support from your Union. We provide services such as free legal support, housing support, and advice on student issues. The Union also works closely with the University's Student Services Department - the confidential welfare and advice service that can provide professional counseling for students. We believe it is important that these services exist and we’ll continue our strong commitment to their provision.
Do you feel passionate about student funding? Do you want to make equality count? Then you should get involved with campaigns. Our Executive Officers will aim to run campaigns relevant to their area; for example the Academic Affairs Officer may run a campaign on education funding; the Student Development Officer may run a campaign to keep Wednesday afternoon free for sports, clubs and society events. Help campaign for Winchester students on national, regional and local issues that directly affect our student life. Because together we are stronger.
Throughout the year we run a number of welfare themed initiatives and campaigns. Whether you're after some general advice on tackling being away from home for the first time or just interested in finding out what we offer please see the links. If you can’t find what you’re looking for or require further information please do contact us.
