In order for a student to join any club or society they must hold a valid Student Activity Card. It is compulsory for participating in a union activity that you have a card.
The card costs just £15 (1st year's), £10 (2nd year's), or £5 (final year's/postgrads), and it is valid for the entire duration of your time at the University of Winchester. The money goes to pay for activities insurance and assisting in the funding of all activities!
You can obtain your activity card from the Student Union's reception (level 3 University Centre, main campus) in person between 10am-4pm Monday to Friday during term time.
We can issue your card immediately only on receipt of cash payment.
A passport type photo is required for us to produce your card
Remember, SA cards are policed by the President, Vice-President and the Student Development Officer. By not obtaining one and still participating, you put yourself, others and the Union at risk.
Starting a new activity: we are keen for expansion of all of our activities and therefore anyone who is passionate about a particular sport or has a particular interest that they think other students may also want to partake in, then we are happy to fund a new club or society.
If you're a University of Winchester student that would like to start your own activity society or team, please see more information here
If your activity group meets the criteria your proposed club or society can be forwarded for approval so we can provided with a budget, training for leading the activity, and provide equipment and space where relevant.
