SU President profile:

The President shall:

• Be the prime representative of the students' union.
• Attend the Board of Governors, Academic Board and other relevant college
committees, and report back to the students' union.
• Normally lead delegations to conferences and meetings to external bodies.
• Liaise with the National Union of Students and the local NUS Area
organisation.
• Supervise any staff that are employed by the Students' Union.
• Meet the college management regularly, and report back to the Students'
Union
• Encourage students to join and get involved in the Students' Union.
• Whenever possible, ensure the Students' Union works as a motivated team
and encourage executive committee members to work to the best of their
ability.
• Draft the Students' Union annual budget, and monitor the expenditure in
conjunction with the VPAS.
• Be a cheque signatory to the Union account.
• Ensure that the Students' Union accounts are audited annually, and that
these are presented to the Board of Governors for information.
• Be the official spokesperson of the Union to the media and other external
bodies.
• Co-ordinate the Union's work in relation to the College's quality assurance
process.
• Be responsible for any other duties as decided by the executive committee
and the union council.
