Freshers, our word for Welcome!
Nothing will introduce you to life in Winchester better than the Union’s programme of welcome activities. When you arrive in September, you’ll be given an ‘entertainment schedule’ outlining all the events taking place in your first two weeks at Winchester, collectively known as Freshers Fortnight. With a massive range of entertainment and events, this is your chance to get involved, socialise and find out what your Union can provide for you.
Our ‘Freshers Crew’ is a team of student volunteers who will be on hand in orange t-shirts, to help guide you through two non-stop weeks of activities and events. They can also provide you with any help or information about the Union or the University that you might need.
On Saturday 21st September, marking the half-way point of Freshers Fortnight, the Union organises a ‘Freshers Fayre’. Held in and around the University Centre, the Fayre is the event where you can visit a number of stalls and exhibits to see what the Union & University has to offer; sign up for sports teams (ranging from Rugby to Rounders and everything in-between) and special interest societies and groups and grab lots of freebies. In addition we invite many local businesses and organisations with great offers for students to the fayre.
It is an event not to be missed!
