The University of Winchester Law Society has a new email address: winchesterlawsociety@hotmail.co.uk.

The plan is to send out a weekly to fortnightly newsletter informing you of the academic and social events planned for the coming weeks. It will also become the point of contact you need to reply to confirm your attendance or spread an interest in one of our events.

If you would like to be on the mailing list for the Law Society, please email: winchesterlawsociety@hotmail.co.uk to confirm your interest to be put onto the mailing list. Please state your name, email address, course and year of study.

We plan to send our first newsletter out nearing the end of next week about the upcoming guest speakers coming in to talk to us about future opportunities after University. There will also be information about upcoming career events in the local area, and plans for social meet ups in the Spring Term.

Kevin Chard, Training Manager of Blake Lapthorn Solicitors, will be presenting his extremely useful talk on the recruitment process. MONDAY 7th MARCH at 2pm - 3pm. Room to be advised. See learning network portal for more details. This event is expected to be well attended, so you are advised to register your attendance early to laura.wells@tiscali.co.uk to be guaranteed a place. Nibbles provided and an opportunity to speak personally with Kevin after the lecture. This event is a must for 2nd year students. Be there or be square.

Laura Wells NEWS FLASH Hi all, due to the increase in cost for SA cards this year, which are essential under Student Union rules we have decided to abolish the membership fee for the Law Society. We hope this will help toward the cost of SA cards. All those that have already paid a membership fee will be refunded. We are lucky to have a strong and vibrant committee this year who are keen to organise academic and social law events for you, but our hands are tied if you don’t have an SA card, so get yours asap and make the most of us. Happy studies

Chris Amys good evening everyone,

the plan on wednesday is to meet outside winchester railway station at 3pm to get a train down to eastleigh and to have a great afternoon/evening in the entertainment complex at eastleigh.

if you are going, can you either put on the facebook event wall, on the facebook group wall, or email the secretary that you are going, so we know who is going.

Laura Wells Hi everyone,
All those wishing to be in the draw for the prison visit, please make sure you get your full membership in asap. We are planning a busy academic and social calender for this year and would love you all to come and join us. So contact any of us for membership details and don't forget that a Student Activity card is compulsory for any activities done by students on or off campus.
