Here at Winchester we play Badminton both for fun and to win!!

This year we have a Women’s, a Men’s and a brand new Mixed Team - all of which you can tryout for during the first semester. Tryout dates are yet to be confirmed.
Both the Men’s and Women’s teams have always trained together in the past, this year we are looking at getting separate training times to allow for more on court time per team. These training times will be confirmed early September.

We have a NEW Mixed team this year which we are hoping to organise friendly matches between other Universities throughout the year, these will mostly likely be on a Sunday. Training for the Mixed team will most likely be held after Men’s and Women’s training, again this is to be confirmed. Your Captain’s for this are Amy Osmond and Jonny Woodgate.

We are not just about competing in the BUCS league we also believe in having fun and encourage all abilities to play, this is why we have a social playing times for members who feel they do not wish to compete. This group is called the Development Squad, this will allow members to have training sessions with the Captains and Vice’s to help improve your badminton skills. 

The Badminton group tend to be a social one and we always love to go to Bop every week and dress up, the theme each week is decided by our Social Sec Emily Try.
