Welcome! Well seeing as you are reading this it must mean you are in interested in what we do. And you have come to the right place as here are the days of the week we meet!
Thursdays: 6pm -10.15pm Stripe Lecture Room. The really big meeting with the really big screen! This is the biggest session of the week, wherein we watch around 4-5 anime per semester on on a huge screen, which we vote on in the first meeting of the semester. We use the huge screen to watch about two episodes of each show per week. This is generally the meeting with the biggest attendance, probably in part due to the big screen. Did I mention this meeting had a stupidly large screen?
Mondays: 6pm-10pm Stripe Lecture Room. Movie night and asian dramas – In these sessions we watch two asian films (often anime or based on anime/manga) and a live action TV drama. If you’re interested in Japanese or asian media beyond the scope of comics, this is the meeting for you!
Tuesdays: 6pm-9pm St Edburga 201. The Manga Meet – This is where we meet up to discuss manga. Led by Matthew Allenby, we work sort of like a book club, reading and discussing manga, exchanging opinions and pretending to be fancy literary critics.
Wednesdays: 7pm -12am 9 Byron Avenue: Classic and Classy – So, you want to watch some classics, do you? Whether you have your own theory about what really happened in “End of Evangelion” or just remember watching Dragonball Z as a kid, come along and watch some of the most well renowned anime ever released.
In all of our meetings we include breaks, which often fall around 8pm for 15 minutes. On Mondays and Thursdays actual showings start at 6.30pm.
