Well what a crazy few weeks just gone, and a few insane weeks about to hit Winchester! With freshers fortnight just over 2 weeks away, the stress levels are just about to kick off!

So last week I was away on holiday enjoying ten days in Wolverhampton soaking up the rain, wind and football. After a hectic week of visiting Wolves (3 times), Aston Villa (twice) and Birmingham I got back to office life this week. Amazing holiday saw a catch up with great friends and one of the funniest holidays I’ve been on, all topped off with seeing Coran from ‘Young, Dumb and Living Off Mum’ in Wolverhampton last Saturday!

Budgets were confirmed this week for the year, not the easiest decision I‘ve made however after looking through all avenues captain’s and societies training on the 16th and 17th September will allow for an in depth look at everyone accounts for the year and where to run smoothly. Although some may not have got what they wanted I hope to offer advice and guidance regarding how make up the difference they are facing.

This week saw a return to the badminton court of myself and seb, after our last appearance together losing twice to Deejay Ra and former SU President Jimmy Weighell, Seb and I recorded three straight wins to now record a 16 – 2 score on the badminton court…our passion for this sport is certainly taking off! I would like take this point to wish Jimmy all the best as he pops over to work in Zante for a few months…love ya!

Today has seen confirmation in our new trophy cabinet being ordered. It won’t be with us until early into the new term however very soon all the unions achievements will be on show in the student union.
Today has also seen the possibility of additional sponsorship for sports and socs…more to follow.

The final bits of varsity are almost complete, Wednesday 6th October will see the mighty Team Winchester play host to Bath Spa once again in more sports than ever – more information will be released soon.

I’ve also had a sneaky peak at the wall planners for next years entertainments at your union…one word – WOW!
