MEET YOUR OFFICERS!

A common problem at the Student Union is the communication between us, as officers and you, the students. Each year we try and combat this problem by holding forums, sending out newsletters such as these and through social networks such as facebook and twitter. However, the most effective idea in finding out what’s on your mind and what we can do to improve is actually going out and speaking to you in person. This is where our new ‘GOATing’ (Going out and Talking) mission comes in!

Over the next few weeks, myself and Jonny (and maybe some part time officers too!) will be visiting halls of residences with some special treats! Whoever wants us to visit your house will have the benefit of not only talking to us in person about the Student Union but we will be making you a cake in your own kitchen with all ingredients and washing up provided by us! (A-MAZING!) Not only that – Every member of that house will receive guest list for BOP or Flirt! - that’s FREE entry and queue jump, and maybe some other gifts for your house too.

If you live in halls and are interested in having us round then all you have to do is send me an email (seb.miell@winchester.ac.uk) with your availability and what house you are in. We will then get back to you as soon as possible depending on demand!

If you have anything on your mind as to how the Student Union can improve, how your course can improve or you just want to watch us slave away and make cake then get in touch now – We are excited to start visiting you in person!
Not only can you tell us about what you think about the SU face to face or by dropping us a line, you could also take part in our Big Survey 2012 and stand a chance of winning some pretty massive prizes

Hope term two is going well and if you’re currently working hard on any essays and especially your FYP, then make sure you are getting plenty of breaks and not getting too stressed! Next two weeks of events at the Student Union include Flirt! Pokemon and the Tiger Reel Music Tour, as well as Round 2 of Winchester’s Got Talent – Do not miss it!
