All you need to know about Winchester SU events!
A warm welcome to all freshers who have joined us this year and a massive shout out to all our returning Winchester students! My name is James McKenzie and I am the Services Officer for this year. I was elected last year with the role of over seeing that the student voice is heard with regards to events, value for money, student focused services & a wide and varied student social calendar.
So every week you’ll see Winchester put event after event all with the purpose of giving you a great, varied social calendar!
MONDAY - The first day of the week is Skint. Very cheap drinks, alternative music and a night that has a religious following from many Winchester students. On Monday 10th we have Freshers Frat Party, an american style Beer Pong night, a first for Winchester. Many students have competed in Beer Pong competitions and it is set to be a unique night not worth missing!
TUESDAY - Tuesdays have been dedicated to the 3 comedy nights and several society fundraisers. Freshers comedy club saw alot of people turned away it sold out so fast so get tickets quickly!
Past fundraisers have seen the entertaining Rugby slave auction and a Dance squad showcase, always a good night and even better when it helps fund our brilliant societies!
WEDNESDAY - When people get their timetables in a new semester, everyone looks for Thursday morning off. BOP on Wednesdays is loved by hundreds of students, and is a great night to hear all the days results and have a celebratory drink or drown your sorrows! With the best cheesy music there is, BOP cannot be missed!
THURSDAY - I’m excited to announce Milk are playing the best, rock, indie and 80’s music to offer. With £2 selected drinks and just £2 entry with an NUS card there is nothing else you should be doing on a Thursday!
Still not convinced? Well why not come and try the karaoke at the terrace bar and listen to people belt out the tunes!
FRIDAY - We’ll all have had a busy week working by this point, and there is no way better to let of some steam than to join you mates at the SU for a night of chart music and absolute classics!
It’s the only place you will stand out a mile not dressing up, with themes such as Harry Potter, Rave, 999, Disney and more!
So that’s one week at Winchester, and you only have the weekend to recover before it all starts again.
Remember to drink responsibly and buy tickets as soon as they go on sale to avoid disapointment.
