Reaffirming our support for our lecturers:

The Student Union would like to take this opportunity to reaffirm our full support and solidarity for the planned strike action taking place tomorrow on Wednesday 30th November. Our lecturers are joining millions of other public sector workers across the country in defence of public services and pensions justice. Public Sector workers are being asked to contribute more, retire later and receive a cheaper salary, therefore having a massive impact on the future generation of people who intend to work in the Public Sector. Whatever you think about students, there’s no denying that their presence in Winchester has a profound effect on the city. I like to believe that these eager young adults, treading the path towards a degree education, add a certain vibrancy, enthusiasm and energy to our city. Woof.

Right, as i have fallen dramatically behind Jez and Krissy on this blogging update malarkey, i suppose i better get into gear and inform all you lovely people what i have been getting up to a week after taking up office!

Since being elected back in March, the last few months have been filled with anticipation and excitment for the first day in office on July 1st. Governor Development Days, Neighbourhood Liason Meetings all formed part of the handover as i began to familiarise myself with the Presidential responsibilities that i was to face in the forthcoming year!
