For yet another year, Winchester Student Union is delighted to announce we are in the top quartile of the national league table for student satisfaction; a ranking we have not failed to achieve since the Student Unions was added to the NSS in 2012.

This is as a result of the NSS (National Student Survey) responses by final year students. Your Student Union was able to secure an overall satisfaction rating of 83%, which puts us joint 11th in the entire country and really far above the national average of 68%.

A national outcome like this really highlights the fantastic work your Union were able to put in over the past academic year, delivering core representation and ever-increasing opportunities for all our students here studying at the University of Winchester. We have seen many successes in countless areas of the student experience. This ranges from thorough academic representation, increasing participation in sports teams and rising society membership, heightened engagement with our commercial offerings as well as in voluntary community activities all the way to our key goal of increasing your employability.

“This is a great result, as by coming in the top quartile of SU’s in the country we provide yet more evidence that the good work we do for our students is hitting the mark. We here at Winchester always punch way above our weight and will continue to do so, whether on national rankings or in the opportunities we provide to our students. I look forward to working closer with our strong staff team and the University to increase satisfaction across the board for this coming year. Bring it on!” President – Harry Sampson

“Every element of what we do here at Winchester Student Union is to both develop and enhance your experience as a student and it is fantastic to see how many have benefitted from the opportunities provided. Our staff and officer team here continues to amazing me with their hard work and enthusiasm and I truly hope that we are able to continue this great work during my time in office.” Vice President, Activities – Jordan Rudge

“What an achievement! I really hope that this reflects upon the students this year and that student engagement and satisfaction remain at such a high standard. After all, it is all about you guys.” Vice President, Education – Samuel Chivers

It is a testament to the hard work of everyone involved that a comparatively small yet incredibly effective Student Union such as ours can prove to be so mighty in these rankings. As your elected officers, we hope to secure and build upon this success over the next year, upholding the idea Winchester Student Union is truly an organisation built by students, for the students.
