Student Voice Day is finally coming soon!

I imagine many of you will have seen (or at least glanced) at the nicely-coloured banners around the university. Exec officers have been pointing at them for days, so I feel as though it is my turn to join in and point to them metaphorically through the elegant use of text.

My name is Harry Sampson, your friendly neighbourhood Communications Officer, and today I’ll be talking about Student Voice Day (obviously).

The Friday will feature a star-studded feedback event run by our active Vice-President Education, Blake Hutchings. Though by active I mean academic and by star-studded I mean interesting university staff, this is going to be a great opportunity nonetheless.

Make sure you are there to:

  • Give lots of feedback to University departments on their activities
  • Find out more about how the University acts on your behalf
  • Discover how the University is managed behind the scenes
  • Meet with staff members from several departments
  • Some will be giving short talks on what they do and how this affects students, including any upcoming plans they have and what YOU think of them

Think of this as a bumper-pack fast-track experience for telling your University what they can do for you.

But you don’t just have to take this from me, as this is a quote from Blake himself:

“Before I began the role of Vice-President, Education, I had no idea exactly how much went on behind the scenes every day at the University of Winchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to find out more about the departments that make this institution what it is as well as to provide constructive feedback.”

Thank you Blake!

Just to clarify, this event is taking place between 11am and 2pm in the Vault, this coming Friday. It is the chance for you to engage with staff, as well as get your voice across to the institution as a whole.

If you want to know more information, please email SU_Comms@winchester.ac.uk or pop by the Student Union office on level three of the University Centre.

Any student arriving before 12:30 will be entered into a raffle with a chance to win a nice new watch!

P.S. I am beginning to update the information for societies and sports teams on the Winchester Student Union website pages – if you want yours added/changed then please contact SU_Comms@winchester.ac.uk with your changes!
