Interesting Semester 2!
Christmas was good, New Year was fun but do you know what will be more interesting? Semester Two!
Let’s put aside those easily-forgettable resolutions of attending the Gym, a Dry January or spending less on chocolate and shoes (never going to happen) and instead go all-out on studying and having a great semester at your Student Union!
Hi, my name is Harry Sampson and I’m your friendly neighbourhood Communications Officer. Today I’ll be talking about some of the excellent events your Student Union is holding for Semester Two.
Silent Disco (Monday 11th January)
Remember this gem from Fresher’s Fortnight or did you miss out? Come along and have a blast at the funniest and most exciting disco held during the first week back. This event is so unique we are only holding one this entire semester – get your tickets soon from the box office before they sell out.
Winchester’s Got Talent (Starting Thursday 4th February)
Ever wanted to be on Britain’s Got Talent? Well here is the next best thing – come along, showcase your skills and have an awesome time. Starting the 4th February this is going to be one of the major highlights of the semester entertainment schedule. There are three round and a final with the ultimate winner getting the opportunity to perform at the Summer Ball!
Old and New Favourites (Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Fridays!)
All of us will remember the wacky Wednesdays of BOP; minions, pirates and leotards galore! Along with this old favourite, we are pleased to announce a new array of fantastic Friday nights; including Hogwarts House Party (with sorting hat!), Minion Rave, Anything But Clothes, and a Rocky Horror Theme Night!
The Big Fat Quiz is also back with a vengeance, so make sure you come on down every Tuesday to the University Centre for 7pm-9pm. If you haven’t been before, this is a great chance to win some cash, bond with new friends and take advantage of some generous deals at the Terrace Bar.
Elections!
This is your chance to really get involved and make a positive change for your fellow students. Got great ideas? Have an aching to help others? Want to give something back to the institution that has really MADE your university experience? Well keep an eye open for further information later in the semester…
Semester Two Schedule
This is the schedule for the entire semester, including most of the events the SU will be holding for the next twelve weeks. If you live in halls, then a copy will be brought round Thursday. If not, copies will be available soon from the SU Office.
