What inspired you to start your career in music?

Hollie: I guess I’ve always loved music, it’s always been something which I feel like I have had to do and just follow my intuition.

Who are your top three influences and why?

Hollie: Billie Holiday because I fell in love with her when I was 3 she kind of introduced me to music. Aretha Franklin, listening to her you would think anything is possible, I would love to be able to sing like her one day, but that’s never going to happen. A third one, ummm, I don’t want to put a lid on it because there are so many…

How are you finding the Coffee House Session tour so far?

Hollie: This is my second gig, the first one was terrifying, I lost the ability to speak.

Well we hope you don’t have that here. There are a lot of dates over a short space of time, do you find it challenging as a vocalist to maintain your stamina and not get tired with the packed schedule.

Hollie: Ummm Iron tablets… No I sing all day long anyway so it’s what I would be doing just outside my bedroom!

You released you first single pointless rebellion this year, tell us about it and what inspired you to write it?

Hollie: I wrote that song about a friend who I wanted to be. I admired her, she was a strong person, but it was also her downfall because she was very proud and wouldn’t tell anyone she was having a bad time and her method of escape, as opposed to telling people about her problems, was through drink and drugs abuse.

For all those who enjoyed your Coffee House Sessions, do you have any more gigs soon?

Hollie: I do but they haven’t told me when they are yet.

For those who would like to hear more of your music where can they go?

Hollie: iTunes, Soundcloud, Youtube, my Facebook page
