Best Venue Award Win
On July 2nd I attended “Ents Forum” in Liverpool with our Events & Marketing Manager and Venue Manager. This event is a national forum whereby the best up-and-coming acts perform in order for student unions to have a look at the talent on offer for their potential bookings for fresher’s events and general events throughout the academic year. Anything from solo artists, bands, comedians and a variety of other entertainment can be found performing in order to impress. We witnessed some great talent and will be booking a range of acts for our events calendar in the next academic year.
Hosted by Radio 1’s Matt Edmundson, the eagerly anticipated awards commenced. To be nominated and shortlisted for best venue (under 1000 capacity) was an absolute honour. The dedication of Ben and Gemma and their teams is something to be admired. Long hours and great networking with agents, ensures that our schedule is packed with exciting and diverse events in our award-winning venue. Yes…you read that correctly, we won the award! “Chuffed” doesn’t do it justice, and if the award wasn’t enough, we have since refurbished level 2 of the venue. Exciting times at the student union!
